Dust off the decorations, un-box the tree, start making lists of who gets what… Christmas, ready or not, is upon us! As always, this is a time of year that reminds us to step back and reflect. So just what is my reflection?
The last 12 months, much the same as last year, will probably be one that most people talk about for many years to come. For many it will be filled with tales of challenges, struggles & natural disasters offset to varying degrees by examples of success against these adversities.
For StorMan the organisation, it has been no different. We have like so many others had to take a long hard look at the “how’s” and “whys” to many aspects of our business in order to refine systems & processes and develop a more streamlined approach. We are pleased to report that with these changes have come many enhancements in our various departments.
For example, our Support team now utilises a comprehensive reporting suite to help locate & address common or ongoing issues to enable fast-tracked product updates & developments. As per our Development Team Leader’s blog, our next release (version 8.2) is coming along nicely, with over a year of testing taking place – the longest ever phase for a StorMan release, to ensure a solid version upon its release in Q1 2012.
Our Marketing & Internet teams this year have been busy developing resources for you with this year’s new tools including the popular Card-‘O-Matic 5000, online support submission system and over 150 new knowledgebase articles & how-to videos in our Client Support Centre (myStorMan).
As with many businesses this year, Sales have been tough – but we’re pleased to say that this has really ramped up over the last few months, leading to the busiest Christmas in StorMan history. The normally quiet time of year is shaping to be anything but, in 2011.
The year also saw some streamlining and a move to a more globalised structure. We did not undertake this process lightly but are now in the position of having the luxury of looking back and feeling that all things considered we have made some positive changes to our current structure and also planned a fantastic future. Fostering a number of strategic partnerships has allowed us to grow in a much more rapid - yet controlled - manner. This can only be a good thing as it will drive an even better product and service to our users.
As always I cannot stress enough how much I value and respect the people that are part of my corporate life. To those team members that work so very, very hard to make us the best we can be and to those customers that choose to spend their hard earned dollars with us as part of the belief that we have this goal in mind for you. I sincerely thank you all for your effort, your input and your commitment to making us better so that we can help to make you better.
As I draw to a close please find the time to reflect on the victories that you have had against your own challenges.
From my family to yours, I wish you all a truly Merry Christmas.
Regards,
Aaron Alsweiler (CEO, StorMan Software)
