As you are probably aware during the last budget it was announced that New Zealand is to move from a 12.5% GST rate to a 15% GST rate from the 1st October 2010. While this sounds simple in theory it may have far reaching ramifications for the financial calculations of products and services that span a period of time before and after this date. Self Storage is one of those industries.
While we have not had the final word as to how businesses are to account for charges that span this date we are committed to releasing to you a build that will provide you a seamless transition.
It is also our intention to get this to you in ample time to prepare for the 1st October. In fact we are already half way through the mechanics of this and once we get some clarity as to the correct method(s) of calculation we will complete this process and then make its release public.
The great news is that as usual with all our upgrades there will be no charge for this new build if you are on a current upgrades and support plan. If you are not then now is an ideal time to get back on board so that we can help you prepare and account for the changeover process easily.
