'Performing a backup' is the process of copying files (or databases) so that they will be preserved and available to restore your system in case of equipment failure or other catastrophe.

PTI access control software is very user friendly and provides easy-to-follow instructions for performing a backup. To do so, use the tools provided in your Help menu within the PTI software application.
PTI Australasia highly recommends that you copy this backup file onto an external hard drive or USB stick and kept somewhere safe; preferrably off-site (be sure to read a great story about the importance of backups in Andy's blog).
